Biathlon: bronze at the World Championships for Eric Perrot
By finishing third in the pursuit at the Biathlon World Championships in Lenzerheide (Switzerland) on Sunday afternoon, Peiserot Eric Perrot won his very first individual medal in the world. Already a double gold medallist in the mixed relay, he now adds bronze to his collection of individual medals.
So, in the great book of French biathlon, he is the eleventh person to win a solo world podium. His ten predecessors? Yvon Mougel, the pioneer of pioneers, Raphaël Poirée, Simon Fourcade, Martin Fourcade, Patrice Bailly-Salins, Quentin Fillon-Maillet, Emilien Jacquelin, Simon Desthieux, Vincent Defrasne and Antonin Guigonnat.
Eric Perrot also becomes the fifth French pursuit world medallist after Raphaël Poirée (silver in 2001 and 2004, bronze in 1998 and 2000), Vincent Defrasne (bronze in 2007), Martin Fourcade (gold in 2011, 2012, 2016, 2017, silver in 2013), Quentin Fillon-Maillet (bronze in 2019) and Emilien Jacquelin (gold in 2020 and 2021).
