Biathlon: the Swiss leaders in good form at the venues of the forthcoming World Championships
The Swiss selections opened this Saturday morning in Lenzerheide (Switzerland), where the World Biathlon Championships will be held in February 2025, with sprints. On the men’s side, Niklas Hartweg seemed to have recovered well from his summer shoulder injury. With a 10/10 mark, he dominated the men’s race by a wide margin, with a lead of 42.9 seconds over Sebastian Stalder (10/10) and 49.7 seconds over Jeremy Finello (9/10).
Less than a minute behind, Joscha Burkhalter (9/10) was fourth, while Yannik Kreuzer (9/10), Dajan Danuser (7/10), Felix Ullmann (9/10), Arnaud Du Pasquier (7/10), James Pacal (8/10) and Matthias Riebli (8/10) followed in the top 10.

In the women’s competition, victory went to Lena Haecki-Gross (9/10). Despite a mistake on the standing start, she was still 3.3 seconds ahead of Lea Meier (9/10), who has been in fine form at the start of the winter season. Elisa Gasparin (9/10) rounded off the podium at 27.5 seconds ahead of Amy Baserga (7/10) and Aita Gasparin (6/10).
Alessia Laager (10/10), Susanna Meinen (6/10), Lydia Hiernickel (7/10), who is expecting a happy event, Flavia Barmettler (8/10) and Irene Cadurisch (7/10) all made the top 10.
