Biathlon: the World Championships in Lenzerheide end with the mass-starts
This Sunday, the 2025 Biathlon World Championships in Lenzerheide (Switzerland) come to a close with the traditional mass-starts. At 1.45pm, it’s the women who open the ball. Wearing the gold bib of the reigning world champion, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet will lead the French delegation, followed by Julia Simon, Lou Jeanmonnot, Jeanne Richard and Océane Michelon.
The five Frenchwomen, who all have a chance of a medal, will be up against their usual rivals: Germany’s Franziska Preuss and Selina Grotian, Sweden’s Elvira Oeberg, Ella Halvarsson and Hanna Oeberg, Norway’s Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold and Maren Kirkeeide, Finland’s Suvi Minkkinen and Italy’s Dorothea Wierer.
Belgium’s Maya Cloetens and Slovenia’s Anamarija Lampic were also present.

Then, at 4.05pm, the men’s mass-start will get underway. Norwegian Johannes Thingnes Boe, like his brother Tarjei Boe, will be wearing the gold bib for his final World Championship start. On the French side, Eric Perrot, Quentin Fillon-Maillet, Fabien Claude and Emilien Jacquelin will be present at the starting gun.
Campbell Wright, Tommaso Giacomel, Sturla Holm Lægreid, Vebjoern Soerum, Martin Uldal, Endre Stroemsheim, Philipp Nawrath, Jakov Fak, Niklas Hartweg, Martin Ponsiluoma, Sebastian Samuelsson and Dmytro Pidruchnyi are all certain medal contenders.
Andrejs Rastorgujevs, the reigning world vice-champion, will be at the start, as will Florent Claude from the Vosges.
