For several months now, Ukrainian biathlete Dmytro Pidruchnyi has been collecting the race numbers of the various athletes taking part in the biathlon world cup with the aim of selling them in a tombola to finance a shelter for a school in his country, which is still in armed conflict with Russia almost 3 years after the outbreak of war.
A few weeks ago, the 33-year-old biathlete posed on Instagram with Sweden’s Sebastian Samuelsson, who gladly agreed to take part in this lovely gesture. Savoie’s Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, Elvira Oeberg, Johannes Thingnes Boe and Simon Eder also made gifts.
Over the last few days, France’s Julia Simon has also played the game, offering up her race number worn during the sprint in Oberhof (Germany).
