Biathlon: no competition this winter for Linn Gestblom

This Wednesday lunchtime, the Swedish Biathlon Association announced in a press release that its athlete Linn Gestblom (ex Persson) would not be taking part in any competitions during the winter of 2024/2025.

She underwent a second shoulder operation last February, but has not yet fully recovered and has decided, in consultation with her medical staff, to withdraw for the season… with her sights set on the Milan/Cortina 2026 Olympic Games.

“My rehabilitation is progressing steadily, but with two major operations in a short space of time, my body needs time to fully recover. In order to catch up on my training and get ready, I’ve decided not to concentrate this season”, confirms the reigning world relay vice-champion.
