Biathlon: Lou Jeanmonnot and Jeanne Richard in the final of the Loop One Festival in Munich
Qualifying for the men’s super sprint at the Loop One Festival in Munich (Germany) gave its verdict early on Sunday afternoon. On the course laid out in the heart of Bavaria’s Olympic Park, the four heats followed each other in quick succession. Each was 5.4km long and featured two shots (one prone and one standing).
Two French representatives made it through to the final. The first was Lou Jeanmonnot (8/10) from the Jura. Winner of her qualifying heat, the first to be contested, just ahead of Karoline Knotten (9/10) and Anna Gandler (10/10), she really came up trumps.

Then Jeanne Richard (7/10), placed in the last heat, put up a magnificent fight. Fourth at the finish, just a whisker behind Belgium’s Maya Cloetens (8/10), she was re-drawn on time for the grand final scheduled for 4.20pm.

The other Tricolores, on the other hand, were eliminated from the start: Julia Simon (7/10) took eighth place in her heat, as did Baujue’s Océane Michelon (6/10). Lisa Vittozzi (10/10), Anna Magnusson (9/10) and Suvi Minkkinen (10/10) won the other heats.

Among those eliminated were Janina Hettich-Walz (8/10), Maren Kirkeeide (5/10), Ragnhild Femsteinevik (7/10), Selina Grotian (8/10), Ella Halvarsson (8/10), Selina Marie Kastl (8/10), Lena Haecki-Gross (7/10), Natalia Sidorowicz (5/10) and Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold (6/10).
