Biathlon: 59 men and 57 women racing this Sunday in Munich as part of the Loop One Festival
The big day is approaching. This Sunday sees the eagerly awaited super sprints at the Loop One Biathlon Festival in Munich (Germany) take place in the Bavarian Olympic Park.
On the eve of the races, the start lists for the qualifying heats were published by theInternational Biathlon Union (IBU). It has been revealed that not exactly sixty biathletes will be taking part as planned, but 59 men and 57 women.

In detail, according to the draw, Fabien Claude has been placed in the first qualifying round alongside Sturla Holm Lægreid, Johannes Dale-Skjevdal and Philipp Nawrath. Eric Perrot will be in the second with Jesper Nelin, Martin Ponsiluoma and Thierry Langer.
The third round will be contested by Quentin Fillon-Maillet, Vebjoern Soerum, Justus Strelow, Vitezslav Hornig, Lucas Fratzscher and Lukas Hofer. Finally, Emilien Jacquelin will be in the fourth with Tommaso Giacomel, Campbell Wright, Dmytro Pidruchnyi, Isak Frey, Simon Eder, Roman Rees and Florent Claude.
Ultra-dense sleeves for women
Then, in the women’s category, Lou Jeanmonnot will share a very tight first round with Lisa Theresa Hauser, Lotte Lie, Karoline Knotten, Anamarija Lampic, Janina Hettich-Walz, Venla Lehtonen, Shawna Pendry and Anna Gandler.
Julia Simon and Lisa Vittozzi will be the favourites in the second, with Maren Kirkeeide, Milena Todorova, Aita Gasparin, Ragnhild Femsteinevik, Ukaleq Slettemark, Gaia Brunello and Tereza Vobornikova also in contention.

In the third series, Océane Michelon, Selina Grotian, Amy Baserga, Anna Magnusson, Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold, Johanna Skottheim and Anna Weidel should be vying for top spot. Lastly, Jeanne Richard, Suvi Minkkinen, Ella Halvarsson, Maya Cloetens, Lena Haecki-Gross, Natalia Sidorowicz, Lea Meier, Selina Marie Kastl, Darcie Morton and Lora Hristova will be in the final qualifying round.
