11:01. As announced by the IBU several weeks ago, the 2025/2026 biathlon season will kick off on 18 and 19 October in Munich (Germany) with the Loop One Festival. This means that the biathletes will be putting on their bibs in less than 6 months’ time, even though they are currently on holiday.
Although this event, which has been put together from scratch by the organisers managing the world biathlon, will not count towards the World Cup and will take place in town and on skis and wheels, the best athletes in the world are expected to take part.
The World Cup resumes on 29 November in Östersund (Sweden).
