Biathlon : conquering her first Olympic medal
At the age of 31, Lisa Theresa Hauser is entering her fourth Olympic season with her ambition intact: to finally win an Olympic medal. The Austrian biathlete, who finished fourth in the sprint in Beijing (China) in 2022, is clearly aiming for the podium in Antholz (Italy) at the Milan/Cortina 2026 Games.

“I’m looking forward to the winter and the high point in February. One thing’s for sure: I’m not going to the Olympics just to finish in the top 30, but to put in some great performances. My goal is a medal in Antholz”, she told the Austrian Olympic website.
She continues: ” In Sochi, a lot of things were still new to me, but at the last two Games, I felt much more comfortable and confident,” she explains.

Despite a summer disrupted by health problems, Lisa Theresa Hauser has been back on track since August. “ In competitive sport, things rarely go smoothly, but at the moment, everything’s going really well,” she assures us. After a training camp on snow in Ramsau (Austria) in October, she is continuing her preparation in Davos (Switzerland) and Obertilliach (Austria).
The Austrian trains part of the year with the Swiss team, under the guidance of Sandra Flunger. In the summer, I organise and finance a large part of my preparation myself, while in the winter, I’m back in Austria,” she explains. The sessions with the Swiss girls are very varied and of a high quality. You learn so much from them.

Between the start of the World Cup in Östersund (Sweden) at the end of November and the Games, Lisa Theresa Hauser wants to build up her confidence step by step: “Time flies, but there are still a lot of competitions until February. I want to put in a string of good training sessions and go into the winter in great shape. Then nothing can stop me from having a successful season.
