Biathlon: Eric Perrot and Fabien Claude get their winter off to a good start, as does Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen
After boss Johannes Thingnes Boe (8/10) made a double mistake with his standing shot in the sprint at the opening Norwegian biathlon races in Sjusjøen (Norway), we thought that Peiserot Eric Perrot (10/10) was heading for an ideal start to the season on the third step of the podium among the stars of the kingdom of which he is a national.

However, at the very end of the race, Vebjoern Soerum (9/10), who is competing for a place in the World Cup this weekend, produced an exceptional last lap of cross-country skiing. Bleeding and in great form, he clawed back more than 30 seconds from leader Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen (10/10) to move up five places and take second place, 2.4 seconds behind his elder brother, the day’s overall winner.
Johannes Thingnes Boe only tenth, Quentin Fillon-Maillet in trouble
Martin Uldal (10/10), third at 7 sec 7, also made a strong impression. Eric Perrot was fourth, at 7 sec 9, just 2 tenths off the podium.

Fabien Claude (9/10), fifth at 16 sec 9 and seventh fastest on skis, also had a fine first race of the season , as he would probably have won had it not been for his fault.

Isak Frey (10/10) was sixth, ahead of Italy’s Tommaso Giacomel (9/10) and his compatriots Sturla Holm Lægreid (10/10), Endre Stroemsheim (9/10) and Johannes Thingnes Boe (8/10), the last member of the top 10. As for the other Frenchmen, Emilien Jacquelin (8/10) was twelfth, Oscar Lombardot (9/10) sixteenth and Quentin Fillon-Maillet (5/10), who was lost on the shooting range, forty-ninth.

The other Norwegians include Sivert Guttorm Bakken (10/10) in thirteenth place, Johan-Olav Botn (7/10) in seventeenth, Tarjei Boe (8/10) in nineteenth, Martin Nevland (7/10) in twenty-second and Johannes Dale-Skjevdal (9/10) in twenty-fourth.
