Biathlon: the comeback of Marketa Davidova
Absent from the biathlon World Cup circuit since mid-December due to treatment for a herniated disc, Marketa Davidova is making her comeback to the Czech squad this week at the World Cup in Nove Mesto (Czech Republic).
“It’s too early to say that I’m back, she said in a statement from Cesky Biatlon. I’ve rejoined the team and I’m continuing my rehabilitation and training. If my health allows it, I’d like to take part in the sprint on Friday, but I don’t want to make any promises just yet. It’s a day-by-day thing and we’ll decide just before the race. If I can, I’d like to race in front of my home crowd.”
The Czech Republic squad for this home World Cup also includes Lucie Charvatova, Jessica Jislova, Tereza Vinklarkova and Tereza Vobornikova.
On the men’s side, Vitezslav Hornig and Michal Krcmar lead the selection, with Jonas Marecek, Tomas Mikyska and Adam Vaclavik in their wake.
