Biathlon: Arnaud Du Pasquier arrives on the World Cup circuit
Ever since he decided to give up long-distance cross-country skiing in the spring of 2023 to become a biathlete, Switzerland’s Arnaud Du Pasquier has been waiting for just the right moment: to be selected for the World Cup. He came close to securing that place last winter after some solid finishes in the top 30 of the IBU Cup, but had to resign himself to staying in the waiting room.
After spending some time training in Lillehammer (Norway) with the Norwegian B team, as he explained in our columns, the Helvetian got his 2024/2025 season off to a poor start… before getting back into the game in January, finishing seventh in the sprint in Arber (Germany) in the IBU Cup. This performance has earned him a place in the World Cup for the stage scheduled this week in Nove Mesto (Czech Republic).
At the age of 32, Arnaud Du Pasquier will be making his first appearance on the most prestigious of international biathlon circuits this Thursday in the sprint.
Swiss-Ski‘s communications department has selected Joscha Burkhalter, Dajan Danuser, Niklas Hartweg and Sebastian Stalder , as well as Amy Baserga, Lena Haecki-Gross, Aita Gasparin, Elisa Gasparin and Susanna Meinen in the women’s category.
