Before the biathlon world cup sprint in Oberhof (Germany), Germany’s Franziska Preuss was well ahead in the overall rankings. A solid wearer of the yellow bib, she had a 194-point lead over Elvira Oeberg and a 213-point lead over Lou Jeanmonnot.
However, the German, in front of her home crowd, only finished twenty-eighth, dropping points in the battle. Seventh-placed Lou Jeanmonnot from Doubt becomes her runner-up, 185 points behind. Elvira Oeberg is third on 203 points and Julia Simon fourth on 234.

In the sprint rankings, Franziska Preuss also retains her red bib, but Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, fourth on the day, is 16 points behind.
