Biathlon: the double for Johannes Dale-Skjevdal, two French on the podium
A few hours after Sweden’s Anna-Karin Heijdenberg won the second women’s sprint at the IBU Biathlon Cup in Obertilliach (Austria), it was the boys’ turn on Saturday afternoon in the Tyrol.
As was the case two days ago, it was Norway’s Johannes Dale-Skjevdal (9/10) who took victory. As fast as ever on the cross-country track, the man who started as the opener won for the second time this winter on the B circuit and strengthened his green bib as overall leader.
A first IBU Cup podium for Valentin Lejeune
He was joined on the podium by two Frenchmen. First, 13 seconds and 2 seconds behind him in second place, was Valentin Lejeune (10/10) from the Vosges, who scored his very first individual top 3 in the IBU Cup. Oscar Lombardot (10/10) from Doubt, 22 seconds and 2 seconds behind the winner, was back on the podium 48 hours after taking second place.
In the flower ceremony, the Germans Leonhard Pfund (10/10) and David Zobel (9/10) were followed by Sweden’s Henning Sjoekvist (10/10). Nicola Romanin (10/10), Christoph Pircher (9/10), Matija Legovic (10/10) and Taras Lesiuk (10/10) also made it into today’s top 10.
Bornandin Damien Levet (9/10) was joint fifteenth with Great Britain’s Jacques Jefferies (10/10). Théo Guiraud-Poillot (8/10) is seventeenth, Gaëtan Paturel (7/10) thirty-first and Corentin Jacob (8/10) forty-third. Finally, Moroccan Paul-Mehdi Benhayoun (8/10) was 128th in his second international race.
