Biathlon: Julia Simon can once again take part in national and international competitions
A few hours ago, at midnight to be precise, the one-month suspension imposed on Julia Simon by the French Ski Federation’s (FFS) national disciplinary committee came to an end.
So, in contrast to the period from November 7 to December 7, and in the words of the federal press release that announced the sanction, the biathlete from Les Saisies (Savoie) can once again “take part in competitions and training organised or authorised by the FFS and the IBU”.

To put it plainly, this means that she is once again eligible for selection to the French team and that, in all likelihood, she will be making her World Cup comeback this week in Hochfilzen (Austria). Although she was unable to test herself in real conditions, it now remains to be seen what physical and mental shape the ten-time world champion will be in.
Julia Simon is still serving a five-month suspended sentence in this case. In October, she was given a three-month suspended prison sentence and fined €15,000 by the Albertville court (Savoie) for theft and fraud.
