Biathlon : “I’m frustrated”, admits Eric Perrot
Peiserot Eric Perrot had to settle for a frustrating fifth place in the World Cup pursuit inÖstersund (Sweden) on Sunday. Starting with bib number 9, the Frenchman was perfectly placed: with a 14/15 before the final shot, he was in a position to join the fight for victory.
But it all came down to the last ball of the last upright. After four perfect shots, the fifth one got away. It was a mistake that cost her the chance to win.

“I’m frustrated… Usually I say: yes, that’s good, 100% work. No, no… today it’s a real drag. I’m disgusted,” he told La Chaîne L’Équipe. I love winning, I love winning. I played it to the end, but I lost that fight and I’m frustrated today.
He also talks about his shot management: “I wasn’t feeling well on the first stand, but I got myself together once, twice, to get the full shot in. On the last one I did the same, except that I missed that last ball, which I still have a little bit of today.

Physically, the Frenchman was up to the task: third fastest in the pursuit and third fastest in the ski race, he didn’t hesitate to assume his responsibilities at the head of the group. “I take my position and I lead the group when I have to. So there you have it, I think I skied a great race, in any case I felt good.

Only Quentin Fillon-Maillet, one of the contenders for victory, managed to do everything right in this final shot. A clear round that allowed him to cruise to victory. “I know: if you want to be part of the final package, you have to fill it up. I was concentrating on that, but I failed today. Well done to Quentin, he won and he filled up the tank. That gives me all the energy I need to get home when it counts”, concludes Perrot, already looking ahead to the next stage.
