Biathlon: the names of the sixteen Italians selected for the Youth and Junior World Championships
In just over ten days’ time, the world youth and junior biathlon championships kick off in Östersund (Sweden). Early on Monday afternoon, the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI ) unveiled the line-up for the event.
Among the juniors (U22), there will be some familiar names, with Marco Barale, Nicolo Betemps, Christoph Pircher, Davidova Compagnoni, Ilaria Scattolo, Birgit Schoelzhorn, Francesca Brocchiero and Fabiana Carpella all selected.
In the U19s, Rafael Santer, Gaia Gondolo and Julian Huber, who won the mixed relay at the European Youth Olympic Festival on Sunday, are in the squad alongside Manuel Contoz, Simone Motta, Carlotta Gautero, Denise Maestri and Nayeli Mariotti Cavagnet.
