Biathlon: another medal for Les Bleus in Östersund
This Saturday, the World Youth Biathlon Championships in Östersund (Sweden) continued with the sprints. In the middle of the day, it was the women who took to the track at the Swedish National Biathlon Arena and, as has often been the case since the start of hostilities, a Frenchwoman stood out.
This time it was Louise Roguet. After getting a tan in the mixed relay on Friday, the Montblanc native put in a contrasting performance, putting in a great race at the best of times. With a 9/10 in the shooting and the best skiing time of the day, she was only beaten by Norway’s Martine Skog (10/10), crowned world champion with a 17 sec 5 lead.

The latter succeeds Elsa Taenglander (8/10), who finished fourth on the day, and becomes the fifth Norwegian biathlete to be crowned world youth sprint champion after Hilde Fenne (2012), Karoline Erdal (2016), Maren Bakken (2019) and Maren Kirkeeide (2022).

Louise Roguet took silver, giving her her first career individual international medal. Czech Ilona Plechacova (8/10) took bronze at 25 sec 8. Behind Taenglander were Switzerland’s Lena Baumann (9/10) and Italy’s Nayeli Mariotti Cavagnet (10/10) at the flower ceremony.
Among the other French girls, Coralie Perrin (8/10) was ninth, Alice Dusserre (9/10) fifteenth and Lola Bugeaud (6/10) twenty-third.
