Biathlon: Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen raises her arms in the IBU Cup
The last time Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen won on the IBU Cup circuit was … in March 2018. That was 7 years ago, in Khanty-Mansiysk (Russia), when the native of Ringerike (Norway) won the super sprint, a format that has now disappeared from the radar.
Back on the B circuit for a few weeks, the Norwegian had not won again. Three times second, including in recent days in the sprint/chase combination in Otepää (Estonia), Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen is back on the winning track this Sunday in the mass-start 60.

Battling with his compatriots throughout the race, he clocked an impeccable 20/20 to raise his arms and beat Johan-Olav Botn (18/20) by 10 sec 2. Winner of the small globe in the speciality, Botn got the better of Isak Frey (19/20) to take the runner-up spot.

Johannes Dale-Skjevdal (18/20) was fourth and Sivert Guttorm Bakken (17/20) fifth. Sixth place went to France’s Théo Guiraud-Poillot (19/20). With a very good shot, the Haut-Savoyard achieved his best result of the winter following a fine tenth place in the pursuit.
Roman Rees (18/20), Gion Stalder (20/20), Damien Levet (17/20), in the top 10 for the third time this week, and Simon Kaiser (14/20) all finished in the top 10. Antonin Delsol (13/20), finally, is thirtieth.
