Biathlon: time for the chases in Oberhof
The Biathlon World Cup in Oberhof (Germany) continues this Saturday with the third pursuit of the winter. On the women’s side, at 12.30pm, Paula Botet from the Vosges kicks off the race… with a big lead over her first runner-up , Maren Kirkeeide , who starts 31 seconds behind. Milena Todorova will be next at 35 seconds, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet at 40, Suvi Minkkinen at 48, Océane Michelon at 50, Lou Jeanmonnot at 53, Sonja Leinamo at 54, Julia Tannheimer at 56 and Selina Grotian at 59.

Those over a minute late included Jeanne Richard, at 1 min 5, Julia Simon, at 1 min 8, Lisa Theresa Hauser, at 1 min 12, Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold, at 1 min 18, Dorothea Wierer, at 1 min 37, Karoline Knotten, at 1 min 48, Anamarija Lampic, at 1 min 51, Venla Lehtonen, at 1 min 53, Ida Lien, at 1 min 58, Franziska Preuss, at 2 min 0, Lena Haecki-Gross, at 2 min 7, Anastasiya Kuzmina, at 2 min 11, Anna Gandler, at 2 min 18, Maya Cloetens, at 2 min 19, Elvira Oeberg, at 2 min 21, Hanna Oeberg, at 3 min 15, or Ella Halvarsson, at 3 min 25.
Three Frenchmen ahead of the chasing pack
Then, in the men’s race at 3.45pm, it was downright three Frenchmen who started first: Quentin Fillon-Maillet in the lead, Fabien Claude 15 seconds behind and Emilien Jacquelin 22 seconds back.

Dmytro Pidruchnyi will be 29 seconds behind, as will Martin Uldal, followed by Sturla Holm Lægreid at 36 seconds, Niklas Hartweg at 37, Emilien Claude at 40, Campbell Wright and Eric Perrot at 48, Vebjoern Soerum at 49, Martin Ponsiluoma at 50 and Johannes Thingnes Boe at 58. The last Frenchman in the running, Antonin Guigonnat , will start at 1 min 52.
