Biathlon: World Cup comeback for Paula Botet
On Monday, the French Ski Federation (FFS) officially announced the French selection for the Biathlon World Cup in Oberhof (Germany) from 9 to 12 January. Twelve French athletes will be competing in Thuringia.
There has been one major change in the women’s squad, with Bornandine Sophie Chauveau, reigning world champion in the relay and winner of a sprint podium a few weeks ago in Hochfilzen (Austria), leaving the group to make way for Paula Botet.

The leader of the IBU Cup circuit after a more than solid month of December with six podium finishes, including two victories, the Bressaude is returning to the World Cup for the first time since… March 2023. As in Grand-Bornand (Haute-Savoie) before Christmas, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, Julia Simon, Océane Michelon, Jeanne Richard and Lou Jeanmonnot will also be taking part.
There were no changes on the men’s side with the selections of Quentin Fillon-Maillet, Fabien Claude, Eric Perrot, Emilien Jacquelin, Antonin Guigonnat and Emilien Claude.
