Biathlon: time for mass starters in Pokljuka
This Saturday, the Biathlon World Cup in Pokljuka (Slovenia) resumes with the mass-starts, the penultimate of the season. At 13:35, the women will be the first on deck for a new episode in the duel between Franziska Preuss and Lou Jeanmonnot for the crystal globe.
Julia Simon, Océane Michelon, Jeanne Richard and Justine Braisaz-Bouchet will also be at the start, as will reigning world champion Elvira Oeberg and Maren Kirkeeide, Hanna Oeberg, Anna-Karin Heijdenberg, Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold and Selina Grotian.

Then, from 3.45pm, it’s the men’s race. Without the competition of Johannes Thingnes Boe, who is ill, Sturla Holm Lægreid will try to make up the gap in the general standings. He will be up against the Swedes Sebastian Samuelsson and Martin Ponsiluoma, as well as the Frenchmen Emilien Jacquelin, Eric Perrot, Fabien Claude, Quentin Fillon-Maillet, Emilien Claude, Antonin Guigonnat and Oscar Lombardot.
Above all, he will have to watch out for competition from his compatriots Tarjei Boe, Endre Stroemsheim, Vebjoern Soerum, Martin Uldal, Johannes Dale-Skjevdal and Isak Frey. Tommaso Giacomel will also be watching closely, as will Jakov Fak and Campbell Wright.
