Biathlon: Franziska Preuss gives herself some breathing space by taking a 60-point lead over Lou Jeanmonnot
On Thursday lunchtime, Germany’s Franziska Preuss pulled off a magnificent operation in the overall ranking of the 2024/2025 Biathlon World Cup. While she had a 36-point lead over Lou Jeanmonnot before the individual short race in Pokljuka (Slovenia), she now has a further 24 points.
Third when the Doubiste driver (938) was seventh, the German (998) effectively increased her lead to 60 units. With four races to go, this advantage could prove decisive… although anything is still possible.

Julia Simon (775), for her part, is in the hunt for third place. Océane Michelon (638), the new wearer of the blue bib, Jeanne Richard (621), Selina Grotian (589), Justine Braisaz-Bouchet (587), Elvira Oeberg (571), Suvi Minkkinen (553) and Maren Kirkeeide (479) follow in the top 10.
