Biathlon: Antonin Guigonnat crushes the sprint at Prémanon
It was the men’s sprint that brought the first day of the French Biathlon Cup in Prémanon (Jura) to a close on Saturday afternoon at the Tuffes stadium. Having come to the Haut-Jura to build his confidence just a few days before the World Cup in Oberhof (Germany), the Haut-Savoyard Antonin Guigonnat put in a great performance.
Scoring 10/10, he crushed this pre-manon sprint. In a time of 23 min 57 sec 4, he impressed and beat his first runner-up, Edgar Geny (9/10), by 1 min 26 sec 2. Damien Levet (8/10) rounded off an all-Montblanc podium at 1 min 49 sec 0. Fourth overall, Dauphinois Camille Grataloup-Manissolle (9/10) put in the day’s other performance and won the U19 category.

Valentin Lejeune (8/10), Mathieu Garcia (7/10), Judicaël Perrillat-Bottonet (8/10), Lionel Jouannaud (7/10), Jacques Jefferies (7/10) and Martin Botet (6/10) all finished in the top 10. Romain Michaud (9/10), thirteenth overall, and Esteban Moreira (8/10), fifteenth, completed the Under-19 podium.

Among the day’s disappointments were Ian Martinet (7/10), fourteenth, Rémi Broutier (6/10), sixteenth, Léo Carlier (7/10), eighteenth, Flavio Guy (5/10), twentieth, Paul Fontaine (5/10), twenty-third, Mathieu Perrillat-Bottonet (5/10), twenty-fourth, and Antonin Guy (4/10), thirty-seventh.
