Biathlon: the IBU Cup in Brezno-Osrblie without the Germans
This week, the German national biathlon team did not make the trip to Brezno-Osrblie (Slovakia) to compete in the fifth leg of the IBU Cup circuit.
Our neighbours across the Rhine have decided to break the deadlock. “This is not a short-term decision, as it was planned a long time ago, even before the start of the winter season, reveals Felix Bitterling, head of German biathlon, in a statement issued by the German Ski Association. The aim is to prepare well for this year’s European Championships in Martell-Val Martello, at an altitude of over 1,700 metres.”

Scheduled to take place from 29 January to 2 February, they are a fine target for the Germans. “So we need to prepare well. That’s why our athletes are at home this week, training before going to Italy,” concludes Felix Bitterling.
