Biathlon: Lou Jeanmonnot in the history books
While she could well go down in biathlon history next Sunday by lifting the crystal globe in Oslo-Holmenkollen (Norway), Lou Jeanmonnot has already made history by triumphing in the mass start in Pokljuka (Slovenia) on Saturday.
By winning this race, the 26-year-old Franc-Comtoise became the first biathlete to win in all four formats in a single season since Germany’s Laura Dahlmeier in 2026/2017.
Another French record was broken. Lou Jeanmonnot won her seventh race of the winter and is now the only Frenchwoman to top the list of most successful biathletes in a single season. Sandrine Bailly and Justine Braisaz-Bouchet had won six races, Julia Simon four and Marie Dorin-Habert and Anne Briand three.
“It shows [already] that I’m having a great season and that I can at least be proud of that,” explained the Doubiste native after her Slovenian victory, when asked about it in the mixed zone by Nordic Magazine.
