Biathlon | Roller skating: Annecy no longer wants the Martin Fourcade Nordic Festival
From 30 August to 1 September, the fifth Martin Fourcade Nordic Festival took place on the Pâquier in Annecy, Haute-Savoie. Supported by France’s greatest ever biathlon champion, this ultra-popular event attracted more than 40,000 people over the weekend.
Against the magnificent backdrop of Lake Annecy, Julia Simon and Sebastian Stalder won the biathlon events, while Océane Michelon and Michal Novak won the wheel-ski events. But this was the last MFNF to be held in Annecy.

As Ski Chrono revealed this Thursday evening, Martin Fourcade sent an e-mail to his partners in which he announced that the town of Annecy had decided to pull out.
“This “political” decision, according to the terms of the e-mail sent by Martin Fourcade, may mark the end of the MFNF in Annecy, but it does not mean the end of the adventure. The event could be of interest to other towns”, write our journalists. It remains to be seen where the event might move to.
