Biathlon: almost 80 foreigners entered for the Summer Tour d’Arçon… including Roman Rees
On Saturday and Sunday, the second leg of the Summer Tour 2024 biathlon competition takes place in Arçon (Doubs). Taking place at the Florence-Baverel stadium and organised byJoël Pourchet‘s ESSS Montbenoit, this is another IBU Regional Event.
This means that foreigners will be able to enter this French national competition, the last to be contested on ski-wheels before returning to cross-country skis in a few weeks’ time. In the last few seasons of his career, Germany’s Benedikt Doll made the Haut-Doubien event a must.

Now retired, he seems to have convinced his compatriot Roman Rees, who wore the yellow World Cup leader’s bib last winter, to make a detour to Le Sauge this weekend. He is simply one of the 78 foreigners registered for the sprint and pursuit in Arçon.

Following in her footsteps will be a total of 19 Germans, including Mareike Braun, Linus Kesper, Julia Vogler and Charlotte Gallbronner. Finland’s Erika Jänkä, who has spent all summer training in the Vercors, has also confirmed her presence, as have the American Maxime Germain and six Britons, including Shawna Pendry and Chloe Dupont.
Swiss and Belgians out in force
The Swiss delegation will be 34 strong, with Alessia Laager, Arnaud Du Pasquier, Susanna Meinen, Lena Baumann and Maëline Triponez among the participants.

Last but not least, Belgium will be fielding 18 biathletes, including its top performers, with the exception of Lotte Lie. Florent Claude, Eve Bouvard, Maya Cloetens, Thierry Langer, Marine Debloem, Sam Parmantier and Julien Petitjacques will all be lining up in Saugeais.
