The gap between Johannes Thingnes Boe and Sturla Holm Lægreid in the overall biathlon World Cup ranking continues to narrow . Whereas it was 48 points before the mass-start in Ruhpolding (Germany), it is now 38.
In third place was Emilien Jacquelin, but the Dauphinois was already 200 points behind the Norwegian. Eric Perrot is fourth, Quentin Fillon-Maillet seventh and Fabien Claude eighth. Fifteenth-placed American Campbell Wright retains his blue bib as best U23 rider.

In the mass-start rankings, Sturla Holm Lægreid (195) takes the red bib ahead of Johannes Thingnes Boe (164), Tarjei Boe (156), Eric Perrot (149) and Quentin Fillon-Maillet (143).
