This Sunday afternoon, the mass-start of the biathlon world cup in Ruhpolding (Germany) offered several twists and turns. In the end, it was second-placed Franziska Preuss who came out on top overall.

Her podium finish, combined with Lou Jeanmonnot‘s ninth place, gives her a 142-point lead over the Doubiste ri der ahead of the Antholz (Italy) stage starting next Thursday. Elvira Oeberg, the day’s winner, remains third at 178 points. Suvi Minkkinen is fourth, Jeanne Richard fifth, Julia Simon sixth, Océane Michelon seventh and Justine Braisaz-Bouchet eighth.
In the mass-start speciality rankings, Franziska Preuss retained her red bib , one point ahead of Elvira Oeberg.
