Biathlon: thirteen Swedes in Ruhpolding
At midday on Monday, theSwedish Biathlon Association announced the names of the athletes selected for the World Cup in Ruhpolding (Germany). In all, thirteen athletes have been named in the group that will compete from Wednesday in Bavaria.
On the women’s side, Sara Andersson is out of the squad, while Ella Halvarsson and Johanna Skottheim return after illness. Elvira Oeberg, who is coming off a double, Hanna Oeberg, Linn Gestblom, Anna Magnusson and Anna-Karin Heijdenberg are also retained. This leaves a group of seven from which the staff will have to draw for the week’s races.
The men’s team is unchanged, with Henning Sjoekvist, Jesper Nelin, Malte Stefansson, Viktor Brandt, Martin Ponsiluoma and Sebastian Samuelsson all returning to the starting line-up.
