Biathlon: Norway returns to the top for the Ruhpolding stage
At midday on Monday, theNorwegian Biathlon Association unveiled its shortlist for the World Cup in Ruhpolding (Germany). While Sivert Guttorm Bakken ‘s funeral will take place on Tuesday, the biathletes attending will then travel to Bavaria late this evening, on the eve of the women’s relay.
The group that will perform at the Chiemgau Arena includes Johan-Olav Botn and Sturla Holm Lægreid, who have been absent for the last few days in Oberhof (Germany). However, the announcement states that it is “still uncertain whether Johan-Olav Botn will be declared fit in time”. So there is still some uncertainty surrounding his case.

Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen, Isak Frey, Johannes Dale-Skjevdal and Martin Uldal complete a team that has been retired by Martin Nevland and Sverre Dahlen Aspenes, who are back in the IBU Cup.
There are also changes in the women’s team, with Marit Oeygard and Aasne Skrede leaving the squad. Juni Arnekleiv and Siri Skar take their places alongside Maren Kirkeeide, Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold, Marthe Kraakstad Johansen and Karoline Knotten.
