Biathlon: Lou Jeanmonnot was there before setting off for Oslo-Holmenkollen
Disappointed after her performance in the individual race on Thursday to open the Biathlon World Cup in Pokljuka (Slovenia), Lou Jeanmonnot lost precious points to Franziska Preuss in the race for the crystal globe. This Saturday, in the mass start, the Frenchwoman wanted to prove that she still had the resources to challenge for first place.

Impeccable at 19/20, the Doubiste native got her first answers. Conqueror and determined to win, the young woman mastered her subject to claim her seventh victory of the winter. The 26-year-old biathlete also took the opportunity to make up ground on her German rival.

Ahead of the last three individual races scheduled for next weekend in Oslo-Holmenkollen (Norway), the Frenchwoman has reassured herself and remains more than ever in contention for an incredible title in Scandinavia. Cyril Burdet, coach of the French women’s team, was particularly pleased with her new-found confidence and shooting ability.
“I’m really pleased that she managed to approach a head-to-head race in the right frame of mind, staying on the offensive from start to finish and getting the full house on the last shot by positioning herself on the number 1 mat,” the Savoie-based coach told Nordic Magazine.

Lou Jeanmonnot can now approach the end of the season in the best possible frame of mind. It’s a situation that also pleases her coach: “ That last shot is something she’s been struggling with recently, and now she’s proving to herself that she can do it,” he added.
