19:35. On Monday evening, 23-year-old Norwegian biathlete Maren Bakken announced her decision to call time on her career at the end of the season. This weekend, at the Norwegian Championships in Stiklestad (Norway), she will compete in her final races.
“I’d like to thank you for all the friendships, memories and experiences made through sport. I’ll never forget,” she wrote on Instagram.
During her biathlon career, Maren Bakken won a total of six medals at the U19 and U22 World Championships in 2019, 2020 and 2023, including a victory in the youth sprint in 2019.
