Biathlon: Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold is ready

For many weeks, the state of health of Norwegian biathlete Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold had been the subject of debate. Absent from her national team’s Italian altitude training camp because of hip pain, she showed that she was in good shape just two weeks before the start of the World Cup.

On Saturday lunchtime, she won the sprint of the opening Norwegian biathlon races in Sjusjøen (Norway). With a time of 9/10 and the second fastest time in cross-country skiing, she finished ahead of Emilie Kalkenberg (9/10) by 12 sec 1 and Gro Randby (9/10) by 28 sec 6.

Second after the standing shot, Slovakia’s Anastasiya Kuzmina (9/10 ) ran a superb race to finish fourth at 44 sec 0, just ahead of Ragnhild Femsteinevik (8/10), Siri Skar (10/10), Marit Ishol Skogan (9/10), Lidiia Zhurauskaite (9/10), Marit Oeygard (9/10) and Lotte Lie (9/10), the other members of the top 10.

Of particular note was fifteenth place for Italy’s Dorothea Wierer (7/10), who nevertheless set the tenth fastest time on cross-country skis.

France’s Julie Baverel (9/10) came in fifty-second in her beautiful yellow and black Holmenkollen Biathlon suit.
