Biathlon | Skidskyttekampen: Deedra Irwin and Miha Dovzan triumph in the mass-starts

19:27. This year, at Skidskyttekampen in Stockholm (Sweden), the biathletes eliminated from the main competition in the qualifying round return to the track for a mass-start consisting of a cross-country lap, a prone shot, a standing shot and a final lap.

In this very short, dynamic format, it was American Deedra Irwin (10/10) who did best in the women’s competition. With a fast, perfect shot, she won just a few seconds ahead of home-grown Anna Magnusson (10/10) and Norway’s Karoline Knotten (9/10).

Then, in the men’s event, there was a surprise: it was Slovenia’s Miha Dovzan, with an impressive 10/10 in the shooting, who took victory ahead of Simon Eder (9/10) and Tarjei Boe (9/10).
