Biathlon: heading for the final for Les Bleus at Skidskyttekampen

The second edition of Skidskyttekampen, the biathlon show held in the Olympic Stadium in Stockholm (Sweden), kicked off late on Monday afternoon with the qualifying heats.

Bringing together seven teams each, it offered eight tickets to the grand final: one to each of the winners and six others on time. Against this backdrop,it was the Norwegians who dominated the proceedings with victories for Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold/Johannes Thingnes Boe and Juni Arnekleiv/Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen, the defending champions. Both victories were achieved after 9 picks.

After that, it was time that did the talking and that enabled the French doubles to qualify. Justine Braisaz-Bouchet/Emilien Jacquelin first finished third in their series at 14 pips, followed by Océane Michelon/Eric Perrot in the same position in theirs, but at 1 round and 10 pips.

The duos Hanna Oeberg/Martin Ponsiluoma, Lena Haecki-Gross/Niklas Hartweg, Suvi Minkkinen/Tero Seppälä and Johanna Skottheim/Sebastian Samuelsson have also qualified.
