Biathlon: training open to the public in Pokljuka for the Slovenians
With the Biathlon World Cup due to resume next Thursday in Oberhof (Germany), the Slovenian national team has decided to prepare in Pokljuka (Slovenia) for a mini training camp.
On Friday, training was open to the public, while on Saturday an internal time trial will be held. “Before this very short training camp, we had the national sprint championships last week, which we used for training, explained Janez Maric, the group’s head coach, in a press release. In the second quarter, we want to at least maintain our results, if not improve on them.”

Among the biathletes capable of shining is Anamarija Lampic. Two weeks after her magnificent podium finish in the Grand-Bornand sprint (Haute-Savoie), she is aiming for greater consistency. “I still feel in good shape, but I need to improve my shooting, she says. I need to make sure that what I show in training, I also show in competition. Then I’ll be even better.”
On Saturday, after the training race, the Slovenian squad for the Oberhof World Cup will be officially announced. Jakov Fak, who pulled out of today’s training session because of a toothache, is expected to feature.
