Biathlon : women biathletes enter the fray in Le Grand-Bornand
After the inauguralmen’s sprint, which saw Martin Uldal win his first career Biathlon World Cup title after a thrilling race, the women’s biathletes take to the track early this afternoon. At 2.20pm, Ukrainian Oleksandra Merkushyna will open the starting gate.

On home soil and wearing the number 22, Sophie Chauveau will be the first Frenchwoman to take to the track, where she shone when she discovered the circuit two years ago. Behind her, Jeanne Richard will wear number 34, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet number 46, Julia Simon number 48, Océane Michelon number 56 and Lou Jeanmonnot number 62 from 2.51pm.
