Biathlon: Chloé Chevalier’s big performance
This weekend’s Summer Tour biathlon in Arçon (Doubs) was the last chance for French biathletes to fine-tune their skills and perform before the snow returns. Chloé Chevalier from Dauphiné did just that in the sunshine and in front of a large crowd.

After a difficult winter in 2023/2024 after contracting mononucleosis, the Frenchwoman was relegated to the French B team in the spring. Now, after a studious summer, the Villardienne seems to have rediscovered her taste for biathlon. On Saturday lunchtime, she put in a great performance in the women’s sprint at Arçon, taking victory and the national senior title in the speciality.

With a magnificent 10/10 on the mats, Chloé Chevalier managed to hold off Lou Jeanmonnot (10/10) on the ski-wheels in the final round. With a lead of 13 sec 0 going into this final double, she won by… 8 tenths of a second. Julia Simon (8/10), who made two mistakes in the standing phase, took bronze at 33 sec 0. For the record, she had fallen on her ski-wheels during the warm-up.
Amandine Mengin best U22, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet outside the top 10
Gilonne Guigonnat (9/10), by less than a second, was fourth just ahead of Jeanne Richard (9/10). Vosgienne Amandine Mengin (9/10) finished sixth and won the U22 race ahead of U19 winner Léna Moretti (9/10), Lou-Anne Dupont Ballet-Baz (9/10) and Voldiya Galmace-Paulin (7/10).

The top 10 overall was completed by Océane Michelon (8/10), who failed to make it three after her double at Prémanon (Jura) last month, Sophie Chauveau (9/10), Belgium’s Eve Bouvard (9/10) and Fany Bertrand (10/10).

Further back are Justine Braisaz-Bouchet (7/10), eleventh at 1 min 13, Camille Bened (8/10), twelfth, Lisa Siberchicot (9/10), fourteenth, Paula Botet (7/10), sixteenth, Caroline Colombo (8/10), twentieth, and Léonie Jeannier (7/10), twenty-second.
