Biathlon: Quentin Fillon-Maillet is in form
Early on Saturday afternoon, in bright sunshine, the Florence-Baverel stadium in Arçon (Doubs) played host to the men’s sprint of the French senior championships as part of the second leg of the biathlon Summer Tour.
Among the favourites were Quentin Fillon-Maillet, Eric Perrot, Fabien Claude and Emilien Jacquelin. They all came from Prémanon (Jura), where they had just completed a hypoxia course, and dominated the proceedings in this national race, held in front of a packed crowd.

And it was Quentin Fillon-Maillet from the Jura who impressed everyone the most. The native of Champagnole (Jura) scored a 9/10, missing a ball on the dismount but being very fast on the standing, and put in a fine sprint on the mats. Above all, he put in a fine display on the ski-wheel track.
Untouchable, QFM thus became French sprint champion, winning for the third time in the Saugeais after the 2017 super sprint and the 2021 pursuit.
Martin Botet in the top 5 overall as U22 winner
On the podium, the Franc-Comtois was joined by Eric Perrot (9/10), second at 30 seconds 5 seconds, and Fabien Claude (8/10), third at 35 seconds 0 seconds. Théo Guiraud-Poillot (10/10), fourth at 35 seconds 4 seconds and second after the split, produced a magnificent performance to fall just short of the medal.

Martin Botet (9/10), best U22, Emilien Jacquelin (7/10), Corentin Jacob (9/10), second U22, Emilien Claude (9/10), Oscar Lombardot (8/10) and Florent Claude (10/10) enter the top 10.
