Biathlon: Janie Picard dominates the U17 women’s sprint at La Féclaz
As in the men’s event a few minutes earlier, the women’s U17 sprint at the Summer Tour biathlon in La Féclaz (Savoie) provided a great spectacle this Saturday morning… and a lot of suspense.
After a series of twists and turns, it was finally Aindinoise Janie Picard (8/10) who took the laurels of victory. With a total time of 15 min 16 sec 8 to complete the 4.5 km course, the woman who has been racing for the Savoie ski committee since the spring beat Chamonix’s Augustine Arson (7/10) by 16 sec 6 and Doubiste’s Emmy Sanseigne (9/10) by 17 sec 7.

Behind them, it’s a tight race with Coline Jeannerod (8/10), Olivia de Rochebouët (7/10), Louane Adam (6/10), Noor Erickson (6/10), Isalyne Duparchy (8/10), Marion Rat-Patron (7/10) and tenth-placed Gabrielle Bourgeois (7/10) all within just over 30 seconds of each other.

At the finish, twenty-five of them were less than a minute behind, including Lana Moreira (6/10), nineteenth a month after doing the double in Arçon (Doubs). However, she still leads the overall standings in the 2025 French Summer Biathlon Championships ahead of the final individual event on Sunday.
