Biathlon: Anna Magnusson beats Elvira Oeberg in Idre Fjäll
In the absence ofHanna Oeberg, who is ill, her younger sister Elvira Oeberg was the favourite this Saturday lunchtime in the women’s individual short at the opening Swedish biathlon races in Idre Fjäll (Sweden). She had a solid day with a score of 19/20, dropping a ball in the first downhill shot, but did not disappoint.
But her national A team team-mate Anna Magnusson did even better. With 20/20 and a rather impressive speed of movement, she won by 54 sec 1 ahead of Elvira Oeberg. Johanna Skottheim (18/20), who left the federal groups in the spring, came third at 1 min 48 sec 8.

Ella Halvarsson (16/20), more than 3 minutes behind, finished just off the podium, while Latvia’s Baiba Bendika (16/20), Ukraine’s Khrystyna Dmytrenko (17/20), Anna-Karin Heijdenberg (14/20), Sara Andersson (15/20) and Estonia’s Tuuli Tomingas (14/20) and Regina Ermits (15/20) rounded out the top 10.
