Biathlon: Le Grand-Bornand from 18 to 21 December
On Monday, the organising committee of the Annecy – Le Grand-Bornand (Haute-Savoie) Biathlon World Cup announced that it had received the green light from the International Biathlon Union (IBU).
The organising committee, its more than 1,000 volunteers (a record!) and all the local residents are ready to welcome the only French round of the Biathlon World Cup,” says a press release. With the successful organisation of six editions since 2013, the Haute-Savoie village has established itself as a must-attend event on the international circuit.”
“It is with great enthusiasm and impatience that Le Grand-Bornand will welcome some 60,000 spectators, including more than 3,500 schoolchildren, college students and secondary school pupils to the Sylvie-Becaert stadium, where 300 athletes will be performing”, it goes on to say.
The first event, the women’s sprint (2.15pm), will take place on Thursday 18 December. The following day, the men’s sprint will be contested (2.15pm). Finally, Saturday will be reserved for the pursuits (12.15pm, 2.45pm), followed on Sunday by the first mass-starts of the winter (12.15pm, 2.45pm).

- 2.15pm: women’s 7.5 km sprint
Friday 19 December
- 2.15pm: Men’s 10km sprint
Saturday 20th December
- 12.15pm: Women’s 10 km pursuit
- 2.45pm: Men’s 12.5 km pursuit
Sunday 21 December
- 12.15pm: women’s 12.5 km mass-start
- 2.45pm: men’s 15km mass-start
- Once again a combination of sprint, pursuit and mass-start: the programme for the 2025 World Cup in Annecy – Le Grand-Bornand is already known.
