Biathlon: Juni Arnekleiv returns to Antholz
On Monday, the Norwegian national biathlon team kicks off its final altitude training camp of the summer preparation period. Scheduled to run until 23 October at the Lavazè pass (Italy), it will be interspersed, for those selected, with the Loop One Festival in Munich (Germany) scheduled for Sunday 19 October.
Prior to this event, Juni Arnekleiv took the bull by the horns and decided to spend a few days training in Antholz (Italy), where she had already been with her compatriots from 22 August to 8 September.

“The choice is easy when you consider the storm that is raging in Norway these days… I’m also taking every opportunity possible to train on the stadium for the next Olympic Games before the winter,” the biathlete with 52 World Cup starts tells Nordic Magazine.

One of the people helping Juni Arnekleiv on site was Patrick Oberegger, the Italian shooting coach for the Norwegian women’s national team: “As there are so many teams in Antholz at the moment, I have no trouble finding someone to train with,” she says. On Friday, I did some wheel-skiing to work on speed and strength, on Saturday, an intense session with shooting, and on Sunday, a long outing in the mountains.
Over the past few days, the Germans, including world number one Franziska Preuss and Lisa Vittozzi, have been training at the Südtirol Arena Alto Adige.
