Biathlon: City Biathlon Dresden takes over the usual Martin Fourcade Nordic Festival date
A few hours ago, the organisers of City Biathlon Dresden, Germany’s summer biathlon show held in and around the Heinz-Steyer-Stadion, announced that the 2025 edition of their event would take place on 31 August.
The event has been brought forward a fortnight from last year, and is now known as the Martin Fourcade Nordic Festival. Forced to leave the town of Annecy (Haute-Savoie), which no longer supports the project, the event promoted by Martin Fourcade has not officially found a new home. The scheduling of the City Biathlon on this date is a further indication that the MFNF will be mothballed, at least for this year.
In its press release, City Biathlon Dresden announced that “the best German athletes, top athletes from Norway, France and other nations as well as many medallists from the World Championships in Lenzerheide” will be taking part at the end of the summer in the capital of Saxony.
Now supported by local company M4 Energy, the Dresden-based energy supplier that has lent its name to the event, the City Biathlon will open its ticket office on Thursday 20 March (click HERE to go there).
