Biathlon: Antonin Guigonnat preferred to Oscar Lombardot
For the French men’s biathlon team, sixth and final place in the World Cup was decided by a whisker last weekend in Geilo (Norway). Antonin Guigonnat, Oscar Lombardot and Gaëtan Paturel were selected for the opening races in Norway.
There is one rule: whoever achieves the best results and earns the most points according to the IBU scale will start the winter on the A circuit.

Antonin Guigonnat, twenty-seventh in the mass-start, did better than Oscar Lombardot, twenty-eighth in the sprint. With both men outside the top 40 in their other race and Gaëtan Paturel finishing further back in the rankings, it was the experienced Haut-Savoyard who won this selective weekend.
The news was made official by the French Ski Federation (FFS) on Tuesday. The boy from Morzine (Haute-Savoie), who became a father at the start of the year, will accompany Emilien Claude, Quentin Fillon-Maillet, Eric Perrot, Fabien Claude and Emilien Jacquelin to Östersund (Sweden) from 29 November.
