Biathlon: the World Cup arrives in Hochfilzen
After spending two weeks in the darkness of Östersund (Sweden), the 2025/2026 Biathlon World Cup moves to Hochfilzen (Austria) this week . As is often the case, it is in the Tyrol that the second stage of the season will take place this weekend.

First, on Friday, sprints will be contested, with a start set for 11:25 for the men and 14:15 for the women. On Saturday, the men’s pursuit is scheduled for 12:00, followed by the women’s relay at 14:15. Finally, the programme will be reversed on Sunday, with a men’s relay (12:00) followed by a women’s pursuit (14:45).
After the Austrian triptych, it’ s time for the biathlon World Cup caravan to head to Le Grand-Bornand (Haute-Savoie) for the third round of the winter season.

Friday 12 December
- 11.25am: Men’s 10km sprint
- 2.15pm: women’s 7.5 km sprint
Saturday 13 December
- 12.00: men’s 12.5 km pursuit
- 2.15pm: Women’s 4x6km relay
Sunday 14 December
- 12.00: Men’s 4×7.5 km relay
- 2.45pm: women’s 10km pursuit
- After several unsuccessful bids, Kontiolahti submits a bid to host the 2031 Worlds
- Suvi Minkkinen keeps his yellow number and will wear it at Hochfilzen, Camille Bened third overall
- Johan-Olav Botn keeps the yellow bib for Hochfilzen, Quentin Fillon-Maillet comes third and will wear red for the Austrian pursuit.
