Biathlon: the World Cup resumes this weekend in Kontiolahti
The Biathlon World Cup is only a few days away. After many months of waiting, fans will once again be able to cheer on the world’s best biathletes for four months, while the athletes will see the work of an entire summer take shape on shooting ranges around the world.
This year, the 2024/2025 World Cup kicks off in Kontiolahti (Finland). While the various delegations arrive in North Karelia at the start of the week, the official opening of the circuit takes place on Saturday. As has been the case for several winters now, mixed events (mixed single relay at 1.15pm, mixed relay at 3.45pm) will kick off the hostilities.

On Sunday, there will be single-sex relays (1.45pm for the men, 5.25pm for the women). We’ll then have to wait until Tuesday December 3 to see the first solo jousts, in the men’sindividual short (4.20pm). The following day, at the same time, the women will be on deck.
The sprints are scheduled for Friday 6 December (men at 4.20pm) and Saturday 7 December (women at 5.10pm). Finally, this first stage of the World Cup will close with the mass-starts, for the first time so early in the season (2.30pm for the men, 5.10pm for the women).
