Biathlon: the Swedes battle it out this weekend in Idre Fjäll
This weekend, it’s not just in Bessans (Savoie) or Sjusjøen (Norway) that biathlon competitions are taking place. The traditional Swedish opening races are scheduled on the slopes and shooting range at Idre Fjäll (Sweden).
On Saturday, the best Swedish athletes will compete in an individual short course, before testing their mettle in the sprints on Sunday. As well as the kingdom’s biathletes preparing for the start of the World Cup, the county of Dalarna will be home to Ukrainians, Estonians, Britons, Latvians, Greeks and Moldovans.
